Default Who needs Rallye sills?

After several months of unsuccessful searching to locate a right hand side sill and a rear quarter for a rallye which I am restoring, I am currently investigating the feasibility of reproducing rallye sills and rear quarters to as close to OEM spec as possible.

I would like to know how many other people would genuinely be interested in these panels as this will determine how far I go with tooling up for them.

Or does anyone know where these are available?!!

A sill you can reproduce yourself, but a rear quater will be difficult I think.
There are some bodykits from gft (polyester) .

The sills on the car I'm restoring were hand made but they had not got the right shape where the sill meets the front wing. They welded the wing to the sill and then used filler to try and create the shape.
I have a brand new sill for the left and upon measuring that there are some subtle changes in dimensions along the sill profile, which create a slight curve and a narrowing in towards the front wing.

That does not sound good. It is indeed not the way to go.

The front wings need some reworking where the sills were welded on to them but are generally sound.

Then you are very lucky
On the Rallyegolf forum Germany they are going to try reproduce new front wings from GFK and also 15 mm wider .
Something for you perhaps ?

regards the front wing, I would need to get a scrap wing to be able to break it down into its component parts to be able to digitize it.
The wings I have are far too good to do it to!
If I go all the way with reproducing sills and quarters then doing the front wings would be a natural progression to compliment the other parts. its all down to costs verses demand really.

The German rallyegolf forum is not a very good forum.
Its difficult to make contact and the Germans think they know everything better
You have to let them believe they do and then you have no problems
They have sometimes nice group buy`s or have connections to reproduce new parts as bigger intercoolers or new brake air intakes and now the front wings.
That should be the only reason to register on that forum.
