Default PS3/XBOX/WII - What Do You Like?

Got my GF a WII (so its not really for me) as she is in NYC.
What do you guys like and tell me why?
I was looking at the PS3 - but seems so damn expensive & does it play old PS1 & 2 games still??

PS3! Yes it plays the old games (not sure about PS1 games, but PS2 for sure).

I love it, it has all the good games IMHO and it quite simply rocks.

See it in a different way. I have the PS3 as well. The reason I bought it was that it had the Bluray player. What is costing a bluray player on the market? Add some money to it and you have the bluray + gameconsole.

To be honest... I've only 2 games. Played for a long period Shaun White, but the last 3 months.... it was only used for the small girl to watch dvd's..

I dont have any of these consoles, but i really like high definition movies. The detailed image you have for example in the movie Australia or Death Race, combined with 5.1 sound it makes it all just a bit better.

Therefore I would rather save some extra bucks and go for the PS3, although you do need to have the right TV or computerscreen to get it all working properly.

I have a ps3 and i love it,
its a 40 gig original with a 320 gig hd inside for the games.
It plays ps1 games aswell and blu-ray.
The graphics are much better then on the other consoles with a hd tv.
Only if u can find a 60 gb stock ps3 you will be able to play ps2 games.

in addition to the posts above:
Not all PS3-systems are backwards compatible with PS2 games.

I have an 80 Gigabyte verion which is not capable of doing so,

A friend of mine has the 60 Gigabyte version which IS capable.

I bought the PS3 instead of the XBOX because the "You-just-got-screwed" factor from microsoft is too high. Pay for online play, pay for DVD-kit, worse quality discdrives, etc.

but we all know whats up
I bought the XBOX (original) the very first day it came out.
goddamn that fucker died a few weeks later.

I have modded a PS1 and a PSP. I wonder how hard it is to mod a PS3?
(is that a forbidden topic here?)

no idea and (no idea)

but why would you wanna mod a ps3? you can already use it for all sorts of stuff.

And the games aren't that expensive anymore. I always buy the games second-hand one month after relaese-date for half of the retail price. (gotta love the internet)

That's a good one. My brother is doing actually the same. Buying the original games second hand. So no modifications necessary!
