Default Golf || 1.6 diesel 300.000 + km’s

I’m looking into buying a golf 2 with 300k + km’s. Is this block still good for some km’s or ...? Let me know if you know something about these blocks !

1.6D is a pretty bullet proof engine.
if you give it the basic maintenance it needs like timing belt, filters and oil it will survive a lot more.

Very simple, but reliable engines. Have had a few mk1 and mk2's in the past with the JP and JK / JR and CY (turbo) diesel engines but never had any real big problems with them. Even when they had (very) high mileage.
