i will tell the stats at my last post of the actual roadtrip just need to finish the diary first!

where were we?
oklahoma city! the cheapest fuel we saw on the whole trip 2,13$/gal for regular, wow that is about 20% of the fuel price here in norway...

this is so far from legal in germany...

we met the legendary route 66 for the first time on our way west

and entered texas shortly afterwards

i was looking forward to come to texsas, not because of this

but because of THIS

i wanted a mega steak so badly!
we saw two guys sitting on a stage with a countdown to finish their BIG STEAK and all the sdes in 1 hour

i began to worry that i could not manage that and the 72$ bill that would await me so i chickened out and ordered the small 32oz one

boath of the guys managed and i regred that i didnt do it since i began to be really hungry after the small steak...it was soooooo good
i liked the interior too

after i finished my steak i went on and needed to order some barbecue ribs, my bro showed me the middle finger when i finished them too and began to look for the menu again...
we took some pics outside and drove on

hard to tell but there are some cars doug into the ground..

the road seemed endless

into new mexico, we drove still without a/c to conserve fuel...

the cel on our trusty corolla told us that maintanance was now required, ohhhmm ok (middle of nowhere)
we decided that that has to be for the regular oilchange and decided to not give a #### about it

we stopped in gallup and found the first cheap motel right at the off ramp, no pool though...
across the street we spotted something

a small car museum!!
we walked n and there was a class reunion going on but the owner (a woman!) told us that we could just go in since they are going to have open much longer that very day (wow, lucky for us!)

our favourite

my bro went to the gas station and used his newly learned english skills to buy the mandatory 18pack of beer!!
we sat outside on the porch and enjoyed the spectacular sunset....
hard to see but the sky was babyblue with pink clouds!!

what a nice day that was (still wish i had gotten the big steak though..)
in the car museum i also came up with a nice rule for europeans:
if you have no clue what car that is and you have never seen it before -it´s a lincoln!
