Dutch Inspiration...
newbie here...but I have been watching this site for a long while....
well, when I considered a different styling for my mk1 (as opposed to my other vw's)... I thought of the Dutch...so the results will come slowly.. Here is how she looks today... :) 83 Rabbit s, 1,7 8v, 15x8's all around, TT header and Magnaflow equipped, kw v1's all around...still debating on the squares though...I just love the look of the round crosshairs ;) |
Welcome! Looks nice on the pics!
Planning to change the front to euro-look? |
don't do it mate, westies are getting rare

Weird, I've never heard of a dutch style when it comes to VWs. Care to elaborate?

well, every modded or restored mk1 that I have come across the past 2 years that has captivated my eye has been Dutch plated...so, there must be something in the drinking water (or beer for that matter)..I can post pix, but I do not want to depress you :D Whatever the styling, at the end of the day, it's all European...the subject title is just my preference at the moment due to what I have sen thus far... the decision gets harder every day...I respect the Westy rarity but man, I just love the look of the sigle rounds and the small Euro chrome bumpers... Still thinking about a compromise, so if there are any pix out there of a Westy front with the small metal Euro bumpers, please feel free to post up  |
Well, put in the Euro-front w/ the Euro bumpers, and throw the Westy in your garage, for safe keeping. ;) See? No harm done, and when you wan't to change it back, it's still there. :)
Good luck on the decision. And you have a great Golf Mk1 btw! |
beautiful car, love the interior and the wheels.

that's the point...how too avoid chopping a Rabbit  here are a couple of pix from a local show this weekend.... Swapped the Nexen tyres for Toyo's so I can drop the coils lower now :) |
Love those 'wide' rear-lights.. make the car 'flat'
Just a pain to see though, that the panel underneath is 'made' for the early small euro lights.. ( which I just noticed looking at it a bit longer) |

yeh but changing to smalls is very easy, just weld in 2 small plates over the bigger holes or get a cabby delete plate. retrofitting them to a euro smalltail golf is also very easy. |

I have a Westy rear clip in storage, complete with the wide tail lamps, if you (or someone else) are interested in buying it. |
I was told it wasn't so easy at all and that you infact do need the rearplate if you want to swap from the standard big to small lights and vice versa.

not for the westy's |
This is a very clean looking rabbit!

Wide rearlights & westy front give it a little USA-sauce over this european look. Must say that I'm impressed with the end result. Color matches with the model of the car. Nice one!
|
Love the colour, love the interieur and the wheels! Its a nice looking MK 1.
The colour looks a bit like mine. Gr Pim |
