New Santana and Jetta for China
 

Both these new models to be released at the end of the year are based on a modified Polo PQ25 platform.

This platform is the same as the Skoda Rapid and SEAT Toledo except the Chinese version are conventional notchbacks.

Markets for the one of the 2 VW models include BRIC countries and possibly ASEAN countries.

So they're finally getting rid of the, what was it 1982??, Santana.
It's kinda sad to see an icon go.

And is this also the end for the mk2 Jetta? or will this be sold alongside it?

I'm well, just got back from Europe 2 weeks ago.
Went to (DE) Hannover, Hamburg, Wolfsburg, Dresden, & Stuttgart & (CH) Bern Lucerne & Zurich.

The way the Chinese work the old models will be built still for a little while.
