1.9 diesel/turbo transporter engine advice needed
 

Does anyone out there no if a 1.9dt engine out of a vw passat or similar will fit into my 2000W reg transporter as the crank has snapped and holed the block !! The engine code is ABL. What is the difference between the engines. I dont mind having to modify it here and there, i need to know if it will fit my gearbox. Or does anyone have an engine or short block for me...cheers for any advice given... :) 07957324361

It uses the same engine block, so you shouldnt have a problem fitting the unit from the Passat.
