And your seat is worn, how is that possible with that mileage |

Thanks for the offer . are the seats the same as mine? I have never taken covers off but people often do swap covers, I am sure some Dutch colleagues may be able to offer advice, If postage is not too much I will take a whole seat my post code in the UK is PL11 2HU Mark H |

My seat is fine, I am planning ahead, ideally would like a spare stored away for when they are unavailable :) |
covers can come off pretty easily

yeah? we sit in the left side of the car when we drive? :D @ damien: that's it, it's new, stop fondling our foggy VW-brains with pics of it and tell were you have hid that time machine. |
At Mice ,not allmost a brandnew car this is a brandnew mk2 :P ,i wanted to give a few Tips for Damien.Wrl first of all it is better to change the coolant fluid ,blue coolant fluid is a short and cheap use fluid, will give problems to corrosion and will damage stuff, my advise is to get the old blue one out ,than use the aircompressor to blow the old rest of the fluid out until motor is empty of the blue one, u can use the garden hose first to pull in fresh water and than blow the leftover water out, sound stupid but its true, than u go buy the RED Coolant Fluid the LL mix with G12+ the longlife fluid look here http://www.kroon-oil.com/nl/product.../coolant-sp-12/ , when use this u wont have to wurry for corrosion or that sorts of stuff and u never have to change the fluid again in ur life, though u need to only ad the same red fluid and not use other sorts in it, it must be RED fluid only, never mix the fluids not even with water.
Well thats a good tip sinds this is a brandnew mk2 , and a second tip is to use another oil type for motor, if it was my car i would use the 10W60 Racing"oil full synthetic where 10 is the thickness of the oil wich is standard vw specs and where 60 is the viscosity of the oil u could say better performance in general. Well i hope u like the tips  |
Btw i have a naughty question to :P where did u find the car and what did u pay for it?was the car allready totally new? am curious to know :)
|

lol hhaha in our family we do this :p,no i ment the right side lol, u are sharp :) i guess i forgot to ad we dont ride on the left side thats what i ment  |
If you use full synthetic oil in an old mk2, that's not going to work!!! This type of oil will damage your seals (crankshaft, camshaft etc) use only VW approved half-synthetic lube oils...
And for the coolant, if you feel the urge to replace it then I would pick the G12++ Purple/pink colored type. This is also what VW recommended to use in my '85 mk2 gti. With this coolant there's no chance of corrosion anymore. Advantage is that G12++ can be filled up by water! |
STILL AFTER THAT SPARE SEAT|no real updates ....Bit of a result with the heat gun, fed up with forever blacking over white/grey bits so spent the money bought myself a heat gun and after half an hour cleaning of all the lotions and balms rubbed in over the years this is the result, completely untreated and in the buff
|
WOW,.. That's a mindblowing result!!
You got it this way by only using the heat gun and no more silicon or bumperblack to finish? Looks very very VERY good!!! |
You do have a stunnin' Mk2 Damien !!! Spot on..
|

mmmmmmmmhhhhh... sometimes being right doesn't necessarily look nice???

Hmm.. Against my expectation... But I prefer the old setup (the other rims).
